Samudera Shipping signs its first LNG contract
Singapore, July 29 (LNG journal)
- Samudera Shipping Line said it signed its first LNG contract yesterday, as part of a consortium that includes NYK of Japan and Sovcomflot of Russia, to carry product from the BP-operated terminal in Indonesia's Tangguh field.

Under the agreement with the operating group, BP Berau, Samudera said it will be part of a venture to transport LNG from Tangguh to Gwangyang in South Korea and to Sempra Energy's terminal at Costa Azul in Baja California , Mexico .

Samudera said it will own 25 percent of one of two 145,700m³ carriers that will be built at Daewoo Shipyard in South Korea . The 20-year time charters will begin in the fourth quarter of 2008.
